I hope everyone’s weekend has started well. These cooler mornings are a welcome change in the Carter house, and I’m sure they are in everyone else’s house as well!
Well, I’m heading back out on another POTA activation!
My goal is to activate:
📍 Sunday Afternoon/Evening:
US-7086 – Trim Cane WMA
📍 Monday Morning:
US-2543 – Lake Lowndes State Park
This time around, I’m hoping to make contacts on both SSB and FT8 and work as many bands as conditions allow.
I’ll be running a homebrew EFHW antenna that W4TBH has been helping me build, so this will be another great opportunity to get it out in the field and put it to the test!
I’ll do my best to remember to take some pictures of the setups this time… I know, I know! 😂📸

UPDATE 22:15 Local time 30 August 2026:
We had a great time at US-7086. We were able to make 10 contacts on SSB 20 meters and 12 contacts via FT8! Next is Lake Lowndes at 0600 local time. It’s going to be an early morning!! Pictures will follow tomorrow’s activation.
